It would be expedient to arrange the Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine after final formation of deputy’s factions. This was stressed by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Chair of the Preparatory Deputy Group Volodymyr Lytvyn while discussing the issue of enumeration, composition and jurisdiction of the Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of the seventh convocation on Thursday. “It is important to have the list of the Committees and only then consider arrangement,” he said. The Chair wished the respective subgroup involving representatives of all political forces “to jointly agree on the number of the Committees, their jurisdiction and balanced duties.”
The Preparatory Deputy Group adopted the list of documents for institutionalization of political factions in the Verkhovna Rada, and determined the number of representatives from these parliamentary groups to establish the Counting Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Both the text of the people’s deputies’ oath, which they are to take on Wednesday, December 12 when the first session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the seventh convocation begins, and the order of the ceremony of taking oath was adopted during the meeting of the Group. Apart from that, the list of those invited to participate in the ceremony was approved. According to V.Lytvyn, there will be 300 persons.
The Interim Presidium, including O.Yefremov (the Party of Regions), P.Symonenko (the Communist Party), R.Koshulynskyi (the All-Ukrainian Union “Svoboda”), and V.Kovalchuk (“Udar”) was formed. All-Ukrainian Union “Batkivshchyna” candidate shall be named tomorrow.
The participants of the meeting approved the draft resolution, determining the order of highlighting the work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the seventh convocation.
Next meeting of the Preparatory Group will be held on Monday, December 10 at 11 a.m.
